The Commonwelth

As explained by Malik, somewhat against his better judgment.

If you are reading this, then Lux has decided that I am responsible for geography now.

The map below shows The Commonwelth, one continent within the world of Amblem. There are other continents, kingdoms, and territories beyond what is shown here, but the events of The Tome of Talula take place primarily within these borders.

The Commonwelth is divided into ten major factions. Some are allies. Some are enemies. Most are both, depending on the day. All of them are dangerous to me, but if you read the book, you realize being a Fallen Angel isn’t very ideal in Amblem.

A few locations deserve special clarification.

The City Below is located beneath Velgrave in the Cleansed Section. Despite what Talula would tell you, it is not merely a city with an unfortunate name. It is an underground refuge hidden beneath the surface of Amblem.

I would know. I spent nearly twelve years hiding there after humans decided to blame my kind for the sky freezing.

You will also notice that Gethse’main and Blue Sky are absent from this map. This is intentional.

Neither location exists within Amblem in the traditional sense. They are pocket portals—spaces that exist between worlds, dimensions, and realities. They cannot be reached by ordinary travel and therefore cannot be mapped alongside physical locations.

Other pocket portals mentioned throughout the story are similarly absent. Imagine them as rooms built into the spaces between spaces rather than places that exist upon the surface of the world.

Finally, it is important to understand that Amblem exists parallel to Earth. Because of this connection, portals can be constructed between the two worlds. Some are stable. Some are not. Most are better left alone.

If you insist on exploring them anyway, please do not tell Boon I encouraged you.
